Training for anyone involved in front line signposting

Newham Council are offering One Newham members free training. The training is a development pathway for staff or volunteers in the borough who are regularly having conversations with residents who are presenting with a range of social welfare issues. The training covers:

  • having the initial conversations with residents – what are their key issues and how do I prioritise support for them?

  • a range of 90 minute training modules on specific services and how best to refer into them. Topics include: Housing and Homelessness, Finance and Employability, Working with Migrants – Bitesize session, Drug and Alcohol Addictions (CGL), The COVID-19 Vaccine, Children and Young People’s mental wellbeing, Early Help and Family Support, Adult Mental Health in the context of The Care Act, Digital Inclusion, Safeguarding and Domestic Violence.
