Wave five of the London Community Response is mainly focused on renewal, supporting three “missions” for the future beyond covid-19 – building strong communities, a new deal for young people, and ensuring a robust safety net. Renewal grants are for up to £50,000 to enable you to deliver work linked to these missions, over the year starting from April 2021. Renewal grants can either be for a specific project, for a partnership, or for the core costs of running and growing your organisation. We are also able to offer a small number of crisis response grants to deal with urgent needs of London’s communities through the third lockdown and months ahead. These grants will be for up to £10,000 for up to six months, starting as soon as the grant is awarded. We know there will be many more applications than we are able to fund in this wave, so would encourage you to read the guidance fully to ensure this is the right funding programme for you – if it isn’t, you can find guidance on other funding here.
You can apply for a crisis response grant and/or a renewal grant. There are different questions for each type of grant – if you are applying for both you will need to clearly show that the work involved in crisis response is different to that you are applying for under the renewal programme.
Renewal grants are for up to £50,000 to enable you to support the recovery and renewal of London’s communities over a full year, starting from April 2021. Renewal grants can be for the costs of a specific project, a partnership approach, or for the core costs of running your organisation.
Crisis response grants are for up to £10,000 to enable you to respond to the urgent needs of communities for up to six months, starting as soon as the grant is awarded.

What’s the deadline?
For crisis response grants, applications will be considered in the order they are received, with a final deadline of 5pm on Thursday 21 January 2021.
For renewal grants, applications will be open until midday on Monday 15 February 2021 and will be assessed together as quickly as possible after this date.
