ACT now to ensure people living in Newham who are European passport holders or citizens, can stay in the UK after the end of June.
Your organisation probably works with a number of people living in Newham who are European passport holders or citizens. Following Brexit, anyone in this situation must register themselves and their partners and children, in order to stay in the UK after the end of June, e.g. in 9 DAY'S TIME.
There is a concern that thousands of people living in Newham may be unaware they need to register to stay in the UK. In particular, people are unaware they need to register their children and those who have lived in the UK for many years. Please help by making sure you tell all your service users about this change - please don't assume that they already have their status to stay in the UK or that they will have a British Passport/Citizenship.
How you can help
Please share the flyer with your service users and promote it across your community, in the final few days when people have an opportunity to register to stay in the UK.
There is a really helpful video on youtube here to explain more about the scheme - Stay Settled in Newham - YouTube - please share this video widely.
We have video clips available in a range of languages if you would like to share on your social media in the languages preferred by your service users or community. Please get in touch to let us know which languages you would like.
