Forward Trust are running an employment training course around Digital Skills (IT skills) and Customer Service both delivered as Level 1 & 2 qualifications starting on Monday 1st March 2021. This is a great opportunity for those who want to improve their IT skills, develop their confidence and communication skills , have an opportunity to work with an Employment Coach on a 1 to 1 basis to work on employability elements such CV workshops, Interview prep ETC. We are also working with a range of employers to help provide learners with sustainable work placements, mentoring opportunities and also exciting work experience opportunities.
The course will run virtually Tues – Friday 10am to 3:30pm these sessions are usually via Zoom. The units are completed on an online portal called Onedrive where work is submitted and marked online so basic IT skills and IT equipment are required for this course.
After the two weeks the learner will have an enrichment week led by the employment coaches. This will be made up of various different workshops around employability where we will do work around CV’s and applying for jobs, interview practice and generally supporting this individual through their journey with us. During the enrichment programme we also will run a workshop around back to work which will include how to disclose convictions ( if required) , information about changes to benefits once they start work, covering letters and also information about pre-employment checksc. There is also an opportunity for mentoring while on this programme and there are Amazon vouchers for those who complete their qualification.
