The Royal Docks Team is a joint initiative set up by the Mayor of Newham and Mayor of London to regenerate the Royal Docks. The Royal Docks is London’s only Enterprise Zone and an ambitious programme of investment in placemaking, transport infrastructure, economic development and arts and culture, amongst other things. The Team is working to restore the Royal Docks into a vibrant water-side destination which supports London’s growth and creates opportunities for local people.
The team’s ambition is that local communities are able to access the numerous opportunities and benefits from the regeneration and play a central role in shaping the area’s future. The voluntary and community groups are working closely with the team to play a central role to support this ambition.
The team hosts regular community stakeholder meetings bringing together community organisations, community champions, developers, businesses, educational institutions and other stakeholders interested in supporting local communities. The meetings provide a space to network, share updates and identify opportunities for collaboration and co-design.
