About the Event

A meeting bringing together leaders from Newham's  voluntary,  community and faith sector with senior council officers Jessica Crowe,  Corporate Director of People Policy & Performance  and and James Partis,  Director of Change.

The Covid-19 crisis has thrown a stark spotlight on the scale of disadvantage and  vulnerability in Newham. At the same time, the way all sectors have  worked together, with extraordinary determination and commitment to meet  the needs of vulnerable people in our community, has provided a taste  of effective partnership and collaboration between the council and other  statutory partners and the voluntary, community and faith sector and  resident groups.

There is an opportunity to shape a recovery phase that builds on  this collaborative approach.  Going forward, how might this spirit of  collaboration be sustained and strengthened to improve outcomes for our communities so that every resident can access the support they need to  become more resilient and better able to lead a flourishing life.

One of a series of Zoom meetings bringing together key council officers and the voluntary, community and faith groups.  The objective is to foster relationships and establish the values and behaviours that will form the basis of further collaboration and partnership.

The focus of the discussion is to look forward, and to discuss principles for joint working, rather than a place to discuss specific issues including funding.
