About the Event
The Covid-19 crisis has thrown a stark spotlight on the scale of disadvantage and vulnerability in Newham. At the same time, the way all sectors have worked together, with extraordinary determination and commitment to meet the needs of vulnerable people in our community, has provided a taste of effective partnership and collaboration between the council and other statutory partners and the voluntary, community and faith sector and resident groups.
There is an opportunity to shape a recovery phase that builds on this collaborative approach. Going forward, how might this spirit of collaboration be sustained and strengthened to improve outcomes for our communities so that every resident can access the support they need to become more resilient and better able to lead a flourishing life.
As the next step, we are hosting a series of Zoom meetings bringing together key council officers and the voluntary, community and faith groups. The objective is to foster relationships and establish the values and behaviours that will form the basis of further collaboration and partnership.
These meetings around a limited number of themes, which we recognise is far from perfect. We will adapt and amend them for future meetings. For now, we hope that local voluntary, community and faith groups will be able to join a meeting that connects in some way to your work.
This meeting will focus on the health and social care sector.
